This 1917 photo shows the Fort Sherman Chapel much as it still looks today, just with the original belfry.

Built in 1880 as part of Fort Sherman, it’s the oldest standing building in Coeur d’Alene. Over the years, it’s seen the transition from military post to college campus and has hosted generations of weddings, services, and community events.
