One year ago today my daughter Melissa was put on a ventilator and I was told that in all likelihood she would not survive.
She was gifted with a miracle when a single Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine became available and she was the one chosen to receive it over the hundreds that needed it to survive.
Melissa and I have co-authored a book about our 6 weeks in the ICU. Me as the mother in the chair and her as the daughter in the bed. The book will be available soon if anyone is interested.
We have all been touched by Covid but some families were touched more than others . I will forever be grateful that our family was spared the pain and suffering that other families were not so lucky to escape.
Melissa and Emily, I love you more than life and will always fight to protect you and those you love.
