After having the privilege of catering their rehearsal dinner the night before, we got to come right back the next day and celebrate this sweet couple all over again on their wedding day.

A little rain certainly didn’t stop this party! Everyone came together and made it such a beautiful, fun celebration. We’ve never seen so many people packed into the John Nichols room — add in a live band The Band, The Bills , a room full of friends and family, and some really good food, and it made for one awesome reception!

One of our favorite parts of what we do is getting to be there for these special moments, especially when the room is filled with so many familiar faces and people we love.

Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of love, laughter, and one very happy forever.

There was something a little extra special—and nostalgic—about this one!

As many of you know, Cody spent several years as the Catering Chef Director at Lee University, so stepping back onto campus, this time as Checker Boards Catering, was definitely a full-circle moment for us.

We had the privilege of catering the rehearsal dinner for our friend Brett and his bride. The menu was a taco bar with shredded chicken tinga, seasoned ground beef, all the fixings, and of course, some of Cody’s homemade guacamole!

We met Brett through mutual friends at church and have also had the chance to work alongside him at church camps over the years. He’s a great guy, and we were so thankful to play a small part.

Congratulations to Brett and Charis ! We wish you both many, many happy years together.

What a beautiful and special celebration we got to be part of tonight!

Mike and Patsy celebrated 50 years of marriage, and it was such a sweet evening honoring the life and memories they’ve built together. We’re so thankful we could play a small part in helping bring their celebration together.

Fall is our busiest season, and our calendar fills up faster than a pumpkin spice latte line! We give each event our full attention by booking only one event per day, so be sure to reserve your date early.

We had the pleasure of catering another beautiful wedding reception yesterday at First Baptist Church!

The couple chose a full grazing table with added shrimp cocktail, chicken salad and pimento cheese croissants, along with one of our lemonade boba bars.

Such a fun spread for a sweet celebration. We’re always so thankful to be trusted with these special days!

We had the pleasure of catering a beautiful wedding reception Friday evening at the historic Tipton-Fillauer House.

Guests enjoyed herb roasted chicken, prime rib, roasted red potatoes, seasoned green beans, a fresh garden salad, warm yeast rolls, and an assortment of cheesecakes to top it all off.

We truly love being a small part of life’s biggest celebrations and helping create memories.

One of our favorite details about this wedding was that the ceremony took place just across the street at the beautifully renovated Johnston Park before everyone made their way to the reception. It was such a perfect combination of two of Cleveland’s historic landmarks.

Congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for letting us celebrate with you!
