Thatβs a wrap! Last Saturday was last wedding of the 2017 season! We had the pleasure of working with incredible couples and talented vendors in gorgeous venues. Iβm so thankful to be sharing my passion for planning & design with all of you. This Saturday, as I enter the final weeks of pregnancy with my daughter, Iβm curled up on the couch sporting my new slippers, sipping on my chai tea latte as I brainstorm blog topics for our engagement season. It was six months ago when this beautiful couple got hitched one August afternoon. From the transformation of the Assembly Hall at Camp Kern to the beautiful naked cake made my Makenna's mom, it was a day I will never forget. Full of smiles, laughter and even tears their big day went perfectly! I'm so blessed to have been a part of it! Daniel & Makenna, this photo truly captures your bond and love for each other! Happy 6 Month Anniversary! β β

Some of my favorites π are the mint facial scrub and using Frankincense and Tea Tree essential oils in my lotions and toner! What are some of your favorite beauty products?
I was admiring these pretties this morning and it got me thinking how much I LOVE textures. π We tend to think about design in colors first but the world is full of textures-grassy fields, brick buildings, wooden furniture, textiles, and so much more. β€οΈ For me, textures set the foundation for an event's tone and style- an event with burlap and wood is going to look/feel different than a event with lace and organza. One of my favorite parts of being a wedding designer is helping my brides pick out the textures they want to incorporate into their special day! Flowers π especially provide amazing texture as each has its own silhouette and you can achieve the texture you want by using different types. It was my appreciation for textures that inspired me to name my business "Petals & Lace". π What are some of your favorite textures? How have they inspired you in your life?

Curating the perfect client gift can be difficult! It's easy to overthink it or second guess your ideas! π€ What I've learned as a small business owner is to keep the purpose of the gift at the forefront of your mind. For me it is a way to say thank you, show my appreciation for the opportunity to work with them and make their day with some personalized goodies! What kinds of things do you do to make your clients feel special π or what has someone done for you that made your experience with them stand out?
As a small business owner I work mostly out of the home these days. I've been slowly turning our empty study into an inspirational space to work every day! This process has been really fun and therapeutic! π Whenever I need a little break from the day-to-day business stuff, I turn my focus to curating a space that is bright, inspiring and calming. I've found after these breaks I come back to my business with a fresh perspective and the confidence I need to tackle the next challenge! Next time you need a break do something you enjoy and I promise you will come back to your work feeling refreshed, confident and ready to dive in! π
Three years ago today I married my best friend and love of my life! We've walked through life together in high school and college, engaged and as newlyweds, and now as parents to our little boy! My favorite part of my morning is putting on perfume! Each morning I think about what I have planned for the day and what kinda mood I want to be in. Tocca is one of my favorites! It's subtle sweet fragrance reminds me to embrace my beauty and femininity. It gives me that extra boost of confidence to seize the day! What is your favorite perfume or part of your morning routine? Last weekend was unbelievably fun for me! I coordinated one of my dear friend's wedding! I loved her style and vision and was honored to be a part of it!
