Posting this here for all my Celiacs.. I wish I can help with making goodies for you all!!!
You don’t know the difficulty those with Celiac live with until you experience it yourself. It is a HARD life… it’s more than just an allergy it’s a world changing disease… you can’t eat out because anything can make you sick, you become deficient in vitamins because your body isn’t absorbing the necessary nutrients which in turn causes severe health issues
With every interaction with gluten, the intenstines lose their villi and it can lead to them becoming non functional.
It’s not just an intolerance of bloating and gassiness.. it’s days of painful excruciating stomach issues that can be debilitating.
Please educate yourselves on food allergies and protect the ones around you. Being gluten free may be a fad for some.. for us Celiacs it’s a lifestyle that forever changes the trajectory of our social, mental and physical well being.
Be kind to those who suffer. And for the love of cookies don’t “test” people by glutening them on purpose to see what happens.. that’s cruel and heartless. You won’t see the reaction immediately but you can really injure someone…
Treat others with kindness.. you don’t know the struggles they live with
💙💜 May is Celiac Awareness Month! Celiac disease is not a rare disease, in fact 1 in 100 people have celiac disease worldwide, but nearly 1/3 remain undiagnosed. Public awareness and education plays a huge role! Let's raise awareness for celiac disease this month! Check out opportunities to get involved here: https://celiac.org/mcam/
