🎄Vendor Spotlight 🎄Vacation with Melissa

Melissa Zenteno with Vacation with Melissa unknowingly started when she was doing research for her own family vacation and began to feel overwhelmed with all of the options and sticker-shocked at the pricing for a family of five. She shared her experience with her husband and told him hat she wanted to get into the travel industry and learn about how she could help others avoid the tedious obstacles she faced and make vacation planning a breeze. Her husband was onboard with the idea and extremely supportive throughout her journey.

In 2022 she finally branched off and started Vacation With Melissa LLC. We are a thriving Latina-owned travel agency with 10 advisors on the team that she personally trains and mentors. She specializes in destination events such as weddings, group trips, honeymoons, cruises, and of course… family vacations.

As for the future of Vacation With Melissa, she would like to continue to service her clients and better themselves by gaining knowledge through trainings and traveling to different destinations. She would also like to provide opportunities for growth for others who are interested in the travel industry

Lynn, with Threads Worldwide which is a fair trade company partnering with women in 7 different countries to help create a meaningful days of work for a fair wage in their country. She has partnered with Threads Worldwide to share the mission of this amazing company. The artists create the beautiful jewelry and they partner with them and share their jewelry here in the United States. The pieces are all handmade and come with a card that explains where the item came from.

They are all unique and gorgeous! When she sells 3 pieces of jewelry with Threads Worldwide it equals one full day of meaningful work for a woman in one of the countries. It’s definitely purchases with a purpose!

🎄Vendor Spotlight 🎄GypsyKat Kreations

Kathy Hajec Gaffney has been doing crafts of all sorts for over 40 years. Every Christmas she would put together a different craft to give as gifts to everyone in the family - ornaments of different styles, wooden signs, coasters. You name it she’s tried it.

Coasters are a favorite as she can customize them depending on who the recipient is - pictures of her sister’s grandkids on her coasters, for he mom, her great grandchildren, wine images, old cars etc.

A friend of hers asked her to customize coasters & trivets for a silent auction basket. From the coasters/trivets in the basket, she received orders from people in all over the states. She also sold coasters in two local boutiques in Roselle.

This year, she was hired again to make ornaments for a company’s annual Christmas party. One year she made trivets with the company logo; this year she customized wooden ornaments for them. She even has done a wedding invitation on a trivet.

This year, she took one of her passions a step further & put together what she calls a “Zen book”. She has given the book, a candle & a bottle of wine as a gift to someone that I knew was going through a tough time.

🎄 Vendor Spotlight 🎄 DoviArt Fashion

Dovile came to Chicago 26 years ago with $300 in her pocket and small suitcase. Now she is a NYFW and LAFW designer, featured on major networks and published internationally. Originally from Lithuania currently residing near Chicago.

She started sewing when she was thirteen. She got tired to wait when her mom will finish her clothes and asked her to show her how the sewing machine works. That was magic! She still remembers the first dress she made for myself. She have several degrees in Textiles - engineering and art. Fabric is the medium fashion designers create with and she knows it at the molecular level. She can not only chose the right material on the spot, but also manipulate it to fit my arctic vision.

Her designs are junction of art and science, they are fully functional pieces of art created for people with personalities who want to extend that personality to outside image.

She is bringing some her latest creations, her fashion accessories -from her “bubble” gloves, hats, to scrunchies on December 6th at Pinot's Palette Elmhurst - Paint, Craft & Sip Studio
