Had the opportunity to sponsor a college scholarship today through the Jones Memorial Community Center Brotherhood Banquet. God has blessed Todd & I in so many ways, it’s only right to pay it forward to those who need it! So thankful for the 2 years I have spent on the board of directors & looking forward to their summer events that includes the Future Artists Coming Together program.

Christmas has always been a time for me to find ways to give back to the community. The last few years I have hosted my own Secret Santa which had me ripping and running all over the place which isn’t in my cards at the moment.

Instead, I’ve decided to partner with Commercial Avenue SSA on their 4th Annual Bridges Toy Drive Fundraiser! Their work in the community I love has always hit my heart strings in the most impactful ways.

Building generational wealth is possible. Sure you can be self made millionaire in a lifetime but most millionaires are regular people who invested over time and did well with the money they had to work with.

I never really understood my dad when he told me he was worth more dead than alive, something he was proud of because he knew he’d start a trend of generational wealth for our family. That is something I have continued with my family and with my parents.

I want it all to be about the art. The art of loving a passion that drives you deep within your soul. That happy place that you cannot deflect from, sometimes the only solace you have in this world. Whether by pen, instrument, food, clippers, a camera or mic - those precious moments devoured into us, drives our being. Makes us feel worthy of seeing another day.

This coming year, I am committing my time and efforts to rebuilding the Greater Chicagoland Area through the arts, creating avenues for local youth and artists to develop their talents and building emotional literacy. Working to bring art & all of its love back in our communities, via events, seminars & afterschool programs.
