Motherhood is a love story written in a thousand different ways — in late-night lullabies, in whispered prayers, in the selfless acts of sacrifice, in the way they pour every ounce of their soul into those they love. Today, we honor every mom, every mother figure, and every nurturing soul who gives and gives and gives.
To start, I want to give flowers to the woman who has given so much for me and my sister— my mom. For years, she sacrificed her own dreams and precious moments with her babies to work overseas, all to create a better life for us. She missed our childhood years, from when I was just 2 and my sister, 4, so we could have a brighter future. It wasn’t until 2007 that we finally reconnected — together at last. And while time may have slipped away, the love she poured out never did. Mom, thank you for your unwavering strength, for your endless love, and for everything you’ve done to keep us close even when oceans kept us apart.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to my suegra, who welcomed me into her beautiful family with open arms and a heart so full of love. Thank you for treating me like one of your own and for raising Paul to be the loving, nurturing, and understanding man that he is. I’m endlessly grateful to be part of your family and to witness the love you pour into everyone around you.
Also thinking of all the moms out there — the ones holding their babies tight, the ones with empty arms but full hearts, the stand-in moms who step in with unconditional love, and those whose greatest wish is to one day carry a child of their own.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful hearts who love so deeply. You are seen. You are cherished. You are loved.
