Happy last week of summer!! If it feels like I’ve been quiet here this last week, I’ve been busy with my family. Chris and I did another camping trip and head out again for the long weekend. But besides that, we not only sent Lizzie off to another year at LSSU but Carley leaves Friday for NCMC where she’ll be staying on campus. So it’s a bittersweet feeling around here for this mom. I’ve had babies at home for 32 years to take care of and I’m both sad and excited to send the last one off.
It’s a balancing act being a small business owner and giving both HCBM and my family 100% of my time. It doesn’t leave much time to just be me. While I’m not the only one baking, cooking, or attending your events, I am the only one behind the scenes, so I apologize if there are times you’re waiting on me to get back to you.
I’ll be in the kitchen later today working on some upcoming events and have a venue visit tonight.
I hope you find time this weekend to take a swim, go for a boat ride, roast a marshmallow, have a cookout, sit around a bonfire and spend time with family. I know a lot of us here in Northern MI have spent the summer working our butts off and this weekend will probably be spent doing the same. I’ll be rolling up my sleeves and working at the Indian River McDonalds on Labor Day 🤪
