Quiche is the specialty for Perfect Lu Paired however the family recipe for our sweet treats is the special-TEA. This here is our Derby Pie - my mother’s creative pairing of chocolate chips, pecans, and gooey goodness. She won’t let me use my homemade crust because that’s not in her recipe lol! This was one of my favorite desserts growing up so I’m wouldn’t dare push back on her wishes! 🤣 As a kid, I liked eating it after dinner, warm and paired with vanilla ice cream or a glass of skim milk. As an adult I can enjoy this for breakfast paired with a cup of coffee! 😜 This pie was a part of our holiday table and it can be a part of yours this holiday season! 💜🦄

I am passionate about pairing flavors…hence the name, Perfect Lu Paired, the term , and our motto “Where Pairing Is The Experience…” 🥰 This egg goodness is for my roasted veggie quiche. Fresh veggies deserve to shine, so I’ve thoughtfully chosen seasonings that perfect LU pair with the roasted veggies! 💜🦄 🙏🏾

Process of assembling Perfect Lu Paired’s deep dish quiche - Pre bake the homemade crust, fill it with meat and veggie filling, top it with hand grated cheese, pour in the egg goodness and incorporate ingredients proportionately, bake, let it cool, then slice into 4, 6, 8, or 10 perfect pieces. I am excited to announce the opportunity to place pre-orders for our quiche pairings. You may pre-order today through 8/28 at 6pm OR when spots are filled.

Pick up will be 9/5 between 10am-1pm or 5-7pm. This is just in time for Labor Day Weekend and would be the perfect breakfast or brunch pairing for your holiday weekend.

In this beginning phase I am trying different days to open, close, and pick-up orders. I appreciate your support and patience as I discover a cadence that works well.

What started as an idea around my family’s Christmas brunch table in 2020 now has a place of its own online. 🥹

For nearly five years, Perfect Lu Paired lived in my mind, in a mind map, in conversations with my Daddy-O, in meals prepared for family and friends, and—most importantly—as a vision God continued to place on my heart.
And now…another piece of that vision has come to life. 💜

The Inspiration Behind Perfect Lu Paired
From the heart of Dr. Luronda Jennings (also known as Chef Lu), Visionary and Culinary Artist of Perfect Lu Paired

Perfect Lu Paired began at my family’s Christmas brunch table in 2020. 🙏🏾

I wanted my mother—whose birthday is Christmas Day—to have an opportunity to relax and enjoy being celebrated instead of spending the entire holiday cooking for everyone else. So that Christmas morning, we collaborated to create a brunch filled with family recipes— a variety of quiche, creamy grits, smoked sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and onions, homemade sausage and biscuits, homemade pigs in a blanket, salmon croquettes, and Hawaiian banana nut bread. Family recipes created inspiration, laughter created memories, and love created a deeper level of faith.

After tasting my quiche and creamy grits, my Daddy-O said words I’ll never forget:
“Oh, Baby Girl, this is the real deal!”

That moment planted a seed.

I began thinking about all the ways food had already been woven throughout my life—cooking with my mother, serving food to the community with my father, creating charcuterie boards, hosting food and beverage pairing experiences, teaching children to cook, working culinary events, and gathering people around the table.

In January 2021, I put the vision for Perfect Lu Paired on paper: unique breakfast and brunch creations, meaningful culinary experiences, and one day, a community café that would create employment opportunities for underserved populations.

Then I sat on the dream for nearly five years.

After my Daddy-O transitioned to Heaven in January 2025, God began showing me that some of the gifts I had been carrying were meant to be used in a new way. My grief, gratitude, faith, love of teaching, and passion for serving others began coming together with a vision that had never left my heart.

And Perfect Lu Paired was born. 💜🦄

Today, we create unique breakfast and brunch pairings--specializing in handcrafted quiche, artisan chacruterie boards, and family inspired sweets. Although our food pairings are designed to bring people together around the table, the vision extends far beyond food. Perfect Lu Paired is growing toward a community café where great food creates opportunities for meaningful employment, belonging, purpose, and connection. Because sometimes what God places on your heart takes time to become what He intended.
