Muskets and fairy wings.. what else could ya want for a day at the Ren Faire?? Believe it or not, the mostly completed musket is the "short" one of the bunch. The other will be a full 4 inches or so taller. The weathering is not complete at all for the shorter guy, but at this point I have to concentrate on finishing the wings, so as usual I am running out of time. Seems like a theme for us. Hahahaha!

Some progress pics of the Ren Faire projects for the family. I'm not gonna lie.. the full on cotton candy pink wings and wands for the girls kinda gave me a twitch to do, but I think mommy has at least talked them into a few more colors. Lol
And no.. the Mando helmet isn't really part if the gear.. just looked kinda cool next to the musket. Hahaha!

Still making progress on the armor of God series. I am liking the cut of the Belt of Truth setup, but I am thinking the phoenix will be going to the backplate for the breastplate of Righteousness. With both up front, it looks a tad busy. I am pondering different style crosses up front instead, but I may also make it plain and simple.. what do you guys think? I DO have a cross on the front visor, so maybe I will just leave the chest all metal... er.. um.. plated. Lol

Also trying another PLA smoothing agent soon. It's called PLA Goop, and I guess it is kinda like a superglue for PLA thermoplastics. It seems to smooth out imperfections with very thin coats, so it sounds great. Now we just haffta see if it kills me like resins do.. ??? *shrugs*

Work is in progress, but I have come to a sad realization. I am deathly allergic to resin in all of its forms. Booo.. I have others to do the resin work needed... BUT.. I will not be stopped. That just means that from now on, I will be electroplating the majority of my builds. Already have half the gear I need, but it is time to hit that next level with my creations! Woot! (BTW, the image is not electroplated... just a work in progress)

Soooooo... yeah.. minor sizing issue between the two attempts. No worries.. I can equip a giant with the bigger one. Anyways, some progress and play with the airbrush. (No.. that is not the color of the helmet. Just the base coat before verigated gold leafing.) Helmet cross will be crimson. And last but not least, one of the possible feather setups for the helmet visor.

I've been slack about posting progress as of late, but here is a quick update. Got the printer humming along again, and made a few test prints to confirm for my Armor of God series. (Ephesians 6:10-18 for you heathens out there. 😆)

Helmet is nearly done with post processing. A little more wet sanding and it will be ready for the base coat and then verigated gold and red gold leafing. Feathers on the way.. yeah.. gonna all fancy pants on this one.) Chest plate design is in the works again, but the front centerpiece will be the phoenix in the pics. (While not in the Bible, and originating from Egypt, early Christian writings associated the phoenix with Jesus Christ and the resurrection. I figure if it is good for Clement of Rome, it is workable for my project. *grin*)

Next up is the Belt of truth. The Lion head will star in that piece, but the new armor design will incorporate that in its making. Just gotta get those airbrush skills up to do that thing justice.

Finally working on design ideas for the shield of Faith. Yes.. it is another file found on thingiverse, but it could possibly work. Just need to get it into meshmixer and do some slicing, dicing, and designing on it. We will see tho..

Anyways, now that all is running well again, I am working on a commission piece for my partner, so all that will be on the back burner. Hopefully we can have it all done by Ren Fest in NC this year!

Took a ton of time to get here. Had some hard battles with the printer to get it right, but just finished printing the first of the Armor of God series I am working on. First at bat is the helmet of Salvation. Yes.. it is still due a ton of work and the feathers are about 7 years of lacking, but you get the general idea. This is the sign that I am on the right track, as well as I have the stinking Elegoo running correctly again. (Make me eat my words and I shoot you printer... just saying. Lol)
