Congrats to this year’s UPPY Award winners! We had a blast celebrating you last month - even with the surprise snow! ❄️

We’ve done A LOT of award ceremonies and have heard many acceptance speeches. Hands down Kimberly w/ .veneno.clt’s speech will forever be my favorite. Love what you are doing girl!

Goodbye, Charlotte Magazine. It’s the end of an era.

After 7 years as Marketing Director and another 8 as their event planner, I’m officially closing a chapter with a brand that’s been such a big part of my story. Sign of the times I guess. Over those 15 years, I had the privilege of working with some of the most talented people in the city. While people have come and gone, so many continue to shape Charlotte and I’m lucky enough to still work with quite a few of them today.

To me, was a time capsule of the city’s biggest moments, telling the story of the people, places, and events. I’m proud to have played a small part in that legacy.

My time there gave me a deep appreciation for this city and the people who make it what it is. I loved the events we created so much that I wanted to focus solely on doing similar work — building uplifting, feel-good, give-back experiences that bring people together. That passion became the foundation for starting Carben Events.

What an incredible ride. Thank you, Charlotte Magazine, for shaping not only my work but also my love for this city. 💛

It’s been 2 weeks since the ASCEND Gala benefiting —an event we’ve had the honor of producing for the past five years. This year we raised close to $200,000, helping the center continue its incredible work supporting and advocating for LGBTQ+ youth. 👏
