Good Morning Beautiful Brides!! ☀️

Can I let you in on something the wedding industry doesn’t talk about enough?

Unfortunately there are times I see heartbreak and disappointment from couples experiencing the feeling of being let down by a vendor they trusted with there very important day. And more often than not it simply comes down to one thing: the right questions were never asked before anyone signed anything.

So I’m giving you the CHEAT CODE today.

If you are booking a wedding planner — or ANY vendor — ask them this one question:
“What does your process look like from the day I book you to the day I walk down the aisle?”
The answer will tell you everything about them, how they communicate, and what you can actually expect.

Whether they are truly going to be present and invested in YOUR day — or whether you are one of five weddings on their calendar that weekend.
A great vendor will answer that question with confidence and clarity. It will feel like relief. Not a rehearsed sales pitch.

You deserve to feel taken care of from the very first conversation, not just on your wedding day. 💜

Save this. Share it with a bride who needs it. And if you have questions about what the RIGHT answers should sound like, drop them in the comments. I’ve got you. 👇🏾

Live wedding painters are becoming one of my favorite guest experience additions.

It’s entertainment + keepsake in one.

Would you add this to your wedding? 💜

To follow up on yesterday’s catering conversation here’s part 2 because the big question after sticker shock is how can we reduce the cost, and most importantly doing it without sacrificing the guest experience?

Here are a few ways to cut catering costs strategically:

1. Adjust guest count FIRST.
Look at every guest as if they have a dollar sign above their head because they literally do. Your guest count has a huge affect on food, rentals, staffing, bar, and venue setup. Even a small reduction can make a big difference.

2. Choose proteins wisely.
Food is expensive especially when it comes to meat. Beef, seafood, and specialty items raise costs quickly. Chicken, pasta, or vegetarian options can lower the per-person price while still feeling elevated.

3. Consider service style.
Plated dinners are typically the most expensive because of staffing. Buffets or stations can still feel & give a luxury look with the right presentation.

4. Simplify the bar.
Beer + wine, signature cocktails, or limited hours can significantly reduce costs without impacting guest enjoyment. Or you can opt for a cash bar, I’m not a huge fan of this but it’s definitely an option that many use.

5. Focus on experience, not excess.
Guests remember good food, smooth flow, and great hospitality more than extras like favors or over-the-top upgrades. Would gold glitter look amazing in your signature French 75 while being held in your freshly done French manicure and make an awesome picture ABSOLUTELY…will it make cost go up OF COURSE 😂

Bottom line: You don’t have to overspend to create an incredible wedding experience you just need a well thought out strategy.

If you’re budgeting and want realistic guidance, I’m always happy to help. 💜

💜 Back to what I love most weddings, events, and beauty. And to kick things off, I’m starting a new series breaking down wedding costs: what’s normal, what’s worth it, and how to plan smart without feeling overwhelmed.

Let’s start with a big one… wedding sticker shock catering edition.

I recently saw a catering quote for about $14,000 for 100 guests, and the first reaction is usually: “How is food that expensive?” Totally fair question. Especially when restaurant pricing makes it seem like you can just multiply a per-person meal cost but weddings don’t quite work that way.

While Pinterest and Instagram are amazing for inspiration, they sometimes create unrealistic expectations around budgets. Catering involves a lot of moving parts and most of the work happens behind the scenes.

You’re not just paying for food. You’re paying for chefs, service staff, rentals, setup and breakdown, logistics, timing coordination, service charges, taxes, and ultimately the overall guest experience. That’s what full-service catering really means.

For context, the quote I saw was on the upper-tier side with a plated dinner and elevated proteins, which naturally increases cost due to staffing, service level, and ingredient quality. Here in the Charlotte market, that typically lands around $130–$160 per guest for a full-service experience, which is actually very in line right now.

Another recent example: about $30,000 for 200 guests including stations, hors d’oeuvres, beer & wine, staffing, linens, setup, and service fees a reminder of how quickly full hospitality adds up.

And honestly, from a planner’s perspective… guests may forget favors or signage, but they rarely forget how they were treated, how smooth the evening felt, and whether the food and hospitality delivered.

The good news? There truly is a vendor for every budget. Sometimes it just takes the right priorities, strategy, and guidance to make it all make sense and that’s exactly what I help my couples do.

If you’re planning and have questions, I’m always happy to help. 💜

Everyone loves a champagne tower but there are other ways of getting bubbly to your guest! In my opinion there’s nothing more chic than walking into a room where glasses are already sparkling on the table. Or better yet make your guests feel like VIPs by having servers tray-pass champagne as the toast begins. It creates a luxe, interactive moment. It just makes things feel effortless and elegant!
How would you serve your guest?

Ok let’s move the conversation this week & explore wedding dress necklines!

There are so many gorgeous options and the one you choose can totally change the whole look of your dress.

Sweetheart Neckline
This neckline is exactly what it sounds like shaped like the top of a heart. It’s very flattering, and one of the most popular bridal looks out there.

The sweetheart neckline shows off your shoulders and collarbone beautifully while giving that soft, feminine look.

Perfect for the bride who wants a timeless, romantic look, loves a little neckline detail without going too deep. The sweetheart can come with straps, sleeves, or strapless

Would you rock a sweetheart neckline, or is it too much?
