Graduation Dinner for 12 🎓

We loved cooking for this family’s intimate celebration in their gorgeous home on Lake Norman. The evening was filled with love and laughter, and we felt incredibly welcomed from the moment we arrived.

Being invited into someone’s home to create a memorable dining experience is never something we take for granted. Thank you to this special crew for trusting us to be part of such a beautiful celebration.

Jo’s Tiramisu — a recipe I learned in Tuscany, while studying in Chianti. A fourth generation recipe, our guests rave about it every.. single.. time! So special 🥹

Pasta Pomodoro — Bronze cut semolina dried pasta, slow simmered San Marzano Pomodoro sauce, fresh basil from + organic grassfed beef meatballs

Asiago Caesar Salad — little gem lettuce, parmesan crisps and homemade sourdough breadcrumbs take this salad to the next level 👌

Antipasti — Mascarpone with olive oil, marinated peppers and mushrooms, sourdough & focaccia — every Italian meal should start with antipasti!

The best part of an event of this scale is creative planning with the team. We think through every single detail: menu flow, ingredient sourcing, balancing flavor components, plating, and of course service.

Chef Jenessa and I wanted to feature the beauty and roots of Southern fare; a seasonal succotash with Fava puree and Remoulade took our entree to the next level. For dessert, a Saffron Honey Tuile elevated summer strawberries and cream. For the starter, toasted sourdough breadcrumbs and three local lettuces brought out the best elements of our beloved Caesar salad.

I was having a hard time a few months back, and Noelle sent me a handwritten card that reminded me of the power of hospitality. She detailed how the birthday dinner we did for her (and 24 friends) in December was one of her most cherished memories. She shared her appreciation for the team, for the food, for the service and presentation. She saw a small business owner having a tough few days and took the time out of her *busy* week to write and mail me a card. So when she emailed me about an intimate cocktail hour, I was ecstatic to bring this to life for her.

Perhaps the most beautiful part of this “job” is spending time with people I admire and cherish. People who really see what we’re building, and raise us up. Noelle and David are two of those people, and I’m so lucky to know them, and cook for them. 🤍

50 years, countless memories, and one unforgettable surprise dinner 🇫🇷✨

What started as “we’re heading out to dinner” turned into an intimate evening at home with their closest friends, complete with a fully customized French-inspired menu, wine, and full service. From classic favorites to thoughtful personal touches, every course was designed to celebrate the people and moments that matter most.

One of the sweetest Mother’s Day experiences we’ve had the honor of creating 👩‍🍳💛

A son who lives out of state wanted to give his mom something meaningful since he couldn’t be here to celebrate with her in person — so he gifted her a private in-home cooking class!

We designed a custom menu just for them, spent the evening teaching knife skills and cooking techniques, and then served them a beautiful meal to enjoy together at the end.

It was such a thoughtful reminder that gifts don’t always have to be “things” — sometimes the best gift is quality time, learning something new, and creating memories around the table.

We had so much fun putting together this kid-friendly graze for a first birthday celebration! 🐰🩷

The host (& mama) sent us inspo pics, and we used them to create a completely customized spread with special touches like popcorn cups, bunny picks, and mini donut garnishes.

We also created custom printed menus and brought in organic edible flowers to adorn the spread. 🌸💫

From the moment we walked into this event, we weren’t just the chef team — we were welcomed like friends. A party crew who made sure we were comfortable, cherished, and part of the celebration too.

For her 40th Birthday, all Lauren wanted was a classic, cozy Italian meal surrounded by the people she loves most — and that’s exactly what it was. No frills, just good food, full hearts, and a room filled with laughter.

A night that reminds us why we do this. 🍝🍷❤️
