I had a self-confidence check today. As a party dj, if I think the request list isn't going to please the party, I've got to speak up and try to change it!!

I had a graduation went through half a party following a list that was just not cutting it.

(Well ok two thirds of the party)

But the last third I was tired of feeling embarrassed with my music choices that weren't mine. The guests didn't know there was a list.

"I'm good at this I promise!!!" I kept thinking

The last hour was much better because, after a particularly horrible song, I stopped trying to get through the list and I tuned into my own judgment instead.

It was good after that, but I've gotta remember this lesson!!

Oh and they thought I was a teenager

Someone asked me my favorite song today... I thought I had none. I'm a DJ, I float freely between genres and decades and my "favorite" tends to be what gets responses from a group. Well I did remember it after he left. It's Pentatonix's Rather Be. A beautiful cover. I could hear it any time and love it.. Give it a listen if you've got the time. What do you think of it?

I enjoyed a wedding reception there last night. My favorite part about that location is the outside ceremony space!
