Before the night closes out, I have to give a special shoutout to my Aunt Rita — the woman who stays 10 toes down for Black Diamond Occasions no matter what. 💎🖤

Whether it’s a last-minute event, an emergency wedding situation, setup, breakdown, or me calling saying, “I need you,” she’s already moving and making sure everything flows the way it needs to. Behind the scenes, she plays such a major role in helping make this business successful, and I truly don’t take that for granted.

And let me just say this… the way she still moves around and works, you would think she was 20 years old! 😂 She can run circles around a lot of people, and watching her keep up the way she does honestly amazes me every single time.

Thank you, Aunt Rita, for your consistency, your loyalty, your hard work, and for always showing up for me and for Black Diamond Occasions. “Thank you” truly doesn’t even feel like enough, but I wanted the world to know how much you are appreciated. 🖤

I finally got to work with my sister, Jasmine Mickens, this weekend. She was the head chef in charge 👩🏾‍🍳. She provided food for over 100 guests and handled the setup and breakdown. I'm going to brag for a minute, not because she's my sister, but because her food service and professionalism were excellent. As a wedding planner, I know many factors contribute to a smooth event, and she nailed it. I hope she finds the courage to move forward on faith because she's capable of continued success.
