Sooo, I just heard that KMart closed its last store. Although I've mostly been a Target shopper personally, I did get one of my biggest design positions with the then-based "big box" store as the designer for Jaclyn Smith and kathy ireland accessories, along with other private label lines. It was a rollicking seven years and I loved most of my time there. I say "most" because the politics and back biting of people in the fashion biz at that level can be devastating. I learned a lot about myself and how cruel "girls" can be when they want your job and/or want you gone. I'm grateful for the experience but at the same time, it's painful to look back to see how awful women can be to other women.
Cooperation NOT Competition is my motto today!
