Amid all the recent focus on Black Country artists, sparked by ’s new album, I cannot shake the feeling that our 1996 country album, "Music is the Language," was simply a case of bad timing. My twin brother and I visited Nashville numerous times to record this album and perform in a few local venues, including a notable show at the Wild Horse Saloon. Being in the area, we knew we needed to form a band locally. Only weeks after the band was formed, "Twin Vision" earned the title of Pennsylvania’s country music band of the year after winning the state championship in the True Value Country Music Showdown in 2000. This led us to the semifinals in West Virginia where we had the opportunity to open for the country music star Mark Wills. Additionally, we were invited to participate in a Nashville Artist and Repertoire (A&R) showcase hosted by Sony Music. During this showcase, a Sony executive commended our music, describing it as "great and refreshing because it was happy country, not twangy." However, he also stated that "country music wasn’t ready for Black artists." I want to thank our diverse and immensely talented band members— Scott Bryant, Cheryl Haley, Keith Bryant, Carole Lovelace, Dan O’Brien, and Earl Matthews. It may be twenty-five years old, but it is new to you if you have not heard it. The three most popular songs on the album are "Country Bug," "Y.I.I.O.U.," and "All Because of You."
