I was born and raised in Staten Island, New York. It was there, in 2002 as a former finance professional, I began taking seriously my life-long passion of photography, taking candid personals and landscape shots around New York City. After relocating to the South Carolina Lowcountry in 2007, I decided to make my passion a profession, going full time in 2012 as Justin Falk Photography. I got my first real break in Charleston’s competitive photography industry when I was hired on as a Staff Photographer of the James Island Messenger newspaper here in Charleston, SC in 2012. Since that time, Many of my photographs have appeared in a wide variety of local and National publications & media outlets including The Charleston Post & Courier, USA Today, Newsweek, Travel & Leisure, the Charleston City Paper, and Charleston Magazine and more. I also do a lot of work and photography projects with the Charleston Preservation Society because I love Charleston and I believe in what they stand for preserving the heart and soul of Charleston. I have received a number of commendations for my work in many events in the area including but not limited to Magnolia Gardens photo contests, Coastal Carolina Fair’s photo contests, Charleston Magazine’s annual photography contests, was named a finalist as the best photographer to “follow” at Charleston Social Media Day awards ceremony, Top 10 Wedding Photographers in Charleston and ! Today I have a permanent booth 7 days a week selling my landscape photography at the Charleston City Market have had my booth for 7 years and do very well at the market and online sales. I am always booked shooting 50+ weddings throughout the year, multiple family photo sessions, surprise wedding proposals, creative pet photography and events for some of the biggest companies in Charleston. Recently, I have also recently taken on the challenge of opening a photography studio in West Ashley to add another aspect to my business to include Holiday mini sessions, professional headshots and maybe start teaching other new photographers the nature of the business. My main photographic focus has been to capture the simple, iconic beauty of the S.C. In both my landscape photography and in all my portraiture, I do my best to utilize my unique artistic eye to create compelling images that capture life lived well against the backdrop of the natural world.

The moment he saw her, everything else faded away. ✨

As Alicia walked down the aisle, Tom’s eyes said it all—love, joy, and the quiet realization that his forever was right in front of him. A glance that carried years of memories and the promise of a lifetime ahead. 💍

Golden hour, heartfelt vows, and a love that’s been years in the making. 💛 Madee + Russ’s wedding day was filled with joy, laughter, and a few sweet cameos from their four-legged best friend. From “I do” to the last dance, every moment was pure magic.

It’s the little things that tell the biggest story. From the sparkle of your rings to the lace on your veil, every detail deserves to be remembered just as beautifully as the vows themselves. ✨📸

They say every red door has a story. This one? It’s bold, timeless, and full of Charleston character.

From the wrought iron gate to the weathered brick beneath your feet, it whispers of history, hospitality, and all the lives that have passed through its frame.

In a city full of charm, sometimes it’s the smallest details - like a door - that invite you to slow down and look closer.

If this door could talk… what story do you think it would tell? 👇

They didn’t need a backdrop — just golden light, a field full of wildflowers, and each other.
The world felt quieter out there. The breeze soft. The moment still.
No music, no crowd, no rush… just two people sitting in the grass, wrapped in light and love.
This is the kind of magic that doesn’t need staging — it just needs presence.

There’s something special about slowing down on Sullivan’s Island.

At The Obstinate Daughter, it starts with the smell of salt in the air and ends with a plate that feels like art.
From caviar and cocktails to oysters on ice, every bite is coastal, intentional, and full of story.

The kind of place where the food is as local as the tide and as rich as the memories made at the table.

Which photo makes you feel most at peace? Drop your favorite slide below. 👇

1. ✨ The kind of light that makes you pause. Sunrise over Sullivan’s Island, where every wave carries a little magic.

2. 🌅 Driftwood and drama. The untouched beauty of Botany Bay at sunrise—Charleston’s most cinematic moment.

3. ⭐ Proof that even the smallest details tell the story of the sea. Tide-sculpted sand, morning reflections, and a star of the show.

4. 🌤 When the sky speaks in whispers and rays, you listen. A quiet morning over Folly Beach’s jetty line.

5. 🌊 A pastel pause. Edisto’s softest colors before the day begins, captured in low tide reflections and Lowcountry stillness.
