After 20+ years of planning, coordinating, decorating, problem-solving, clipboard-wielding, timeline-fixing, and occasionally asking, “Who approved this?”… I figured it was probably time. 😉

THINGS YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY PRACTICE BEFORE YOUR WEDDING DAY 💍✨

Because “we’ll just wing it” is cute… until you’re standing at the altar wondering who is supposed to move first. 👀

💃 1. SIT. IN. YOUR. DRESS.
Yes, girl. Sit down.
Can you sit? Can you breathe? Can you hug someone? Can you get in and out of a chair? And most importantly… can you p*e without needing a small construction crew? 😂
Figure it out BEFORE wedding day.

🕺 2. PRACTICE YOUR FIRST DANCE.
You don’t need choreography worthy of a world tour. But please know the beginning, the ending and what happens when one of you forgets the middle. 😂
Pro tip: Nobody knows the dance you were supposed to do. Keep moving!

🚶‍♀️ 3. PRACTICE YOUR AISLE MOMENT.
Walk slower than you think you need to. Take a breath. Look around. Smile. Soak it in.
And practice what happens when you get to your person. Hug? Kiss? High five? 😂
Please don't arrive at the altar like, “Okay…now what?”

👠 4. WALK. IN. YOUR. SHOES.
Around the house. Outside. On the dance floor.
Break. Them. In.
Your wedding shoes should not be meeting your feet for the first time when you walk down the aisle. Your feet have enough problems. 😂

💍 5. SAY YOUR VOWS OUT LOUD.
Not silently in your head.
OUT. LOUD.
Practice looking at each other while saying them. Practice pausing. Practice breathing when the emotions hit.
And maybe discover BEFORE the ceremony that your “short and sweet” vows are actually 17 minutes long. 😂

👗 6. PRACTICE THAT BUSTLE.
Do not wait until cocktail hour to find out nobody knows how your dress goes from “bride” to “ready to party.”
Have your bustle person practice. Then practice again.
And maybe take a picture of it because apparently wedding dresses come with their own instruction manuals. 🤣

🎉 7. PLAN YOUR GRAND ENTRANCE.
Are you walking in? Dancing in? Running in? Making everyone lose their minds?
Decide!
Know where you're coming from, what song is playing and what happens when you hit that dance floor.

📸 8. PRACTICE YOUR “PHOTO FACE.”
Because after 400 pictures, “just smile naturally” starts feeling like a personal attack. 😂
Relax your shoulders. Look at each other. Laugh. Move. Let your photographer guide you.

🍰 9. PRACTICE THE CAKE CUTTING.
Because somehow cutting a cake becomes a whole event when 100 people are watching.
And PLEASE discuss the cake-smashing situation beforehand.
Consent is sexy, people. 😂

🥂 10. PRACTICE YOUR TOASTS & SPEECHES.
Know who is speaking, when they're speaking and where they're supposed to stand.
Because nothing says “organized wedding” like someone wandering around with a microphone asking, “Am I supposed to go now?” 😂

🪩 11. PRACTICE GETTING ON THE DANCE FLOOR.
If you want everyone dancing, pick that song and GET OUT THERE.
Your guests are looking at you to set the vibe. So go ahead… shake what your mama gave you. 💃

🚨 12. HAVE A “WHAT IF” PLAN.
Rain? Missing boutonniere? Late vendor? Broken zipper? Someone forgot the rings?
Things happen.
The goal isn't to have a wedding where nothing goes wrong.
The goal is to have a plan so YOU don't have to deal with it when something does.

✨ And that, my friends, is why having a coordinator is not just about timelines and clipboards.

It's about knowing the little things that can make a BIG difference… so you can spend your wedding day doing what you actually came to do:
