The warmer weather over the last week has kept us busy; cutting anywhere between 25-75 stems a day.

It’s fulfilling seeing and hearing the joy the flowers are bringing others. So fulfilling that we have two more bouquets going out the door!

As the blooming season comes to a close, we recognize the love of peonies that others share along with us! We are already planning ahead and looking forward to next year.

There’s no such thing as too many peonies… only not enough time to enjoy them all 🌸

These blooms you’re seeing? They’re from our well-established plants; the ones that have had years to grow, settle in, and really show off.

But the ones we’ve just planted? They’re still getting started. Still building their roots. Still a few years away from putting on this kind of show.

And that’s the beauty of it.

Because if you’re patient (which can be challenging at times 😅) if you give it time, those small beginnings will turn into thousands of blooms. It won’t happen overnight, but one day you’ll look out and see rows and rows of something you once just planted with hope.

So no… there’s no such thing as too many peonies. Just a reminder that the best things take time 🌸💐

Midwest Spring brings 80s and sunshine one day, and tornado warnings, downpours, and 60s the next day.

Friday night had us out in the mud, tending to each and every root. Heavy rains meant some had to be completely replanted, while others needed a gentle lift after sinking too deep. Not exactly the glamorous side of flower farming—but part of the story nonetheless.

Fast forward to yesterday’s soft rain and tonight’s little peek at growth… and just like that, the excitement is back. Those tiny signs of life make it all worth it.

We’ve even started penciling out a plan for fall shooting to add 800 more roots. I guess you could say… this first round didn’t scare us off too bad. 😉

And just like that… the LAST root is in the ground 🙌

What started as a big idea (and a lot of digging 😅) turned into a huge accomplishment in record time. We’re officially done planting for the season. Now it’s time to sit back and let these beauties do their thing.

We’ve learned a ton, laughed a lot, and maybe questioned our life choices once or twice along the way 😂 but we wouldn’t trade it.

Next up: dreaming, scheming, and planning for fall…
But first? A little rest, a little celebrating, and soaking in this “we actually did it” moment.

Let the growing begin!

BIG progress day at Hidden Peony!

Rows staked, landscape fabric laid, and 90 holes dug… with just 106 more to go…for now 😅

After a week of rain which slowed us down, today felt like a major win. With the help of our friend Chad, we pushed forward in a big way and got into a rhythm.

Even better, we figured out our planting template and spacing, which will make everything smoother (and faster!) from here on out.

If all goes to plan, we’ll have every root in the ground by tomorrow evening… and that feels pretty incredible.

This dream doesn’t grow overnight, but days like today remind us we’re getting closer. 🌸

Hidden Peony has been a dream we’ve talked about for years… and now we’re finally watching it come to life.

This doesn’t happen overnight, we’re starting with 180+ roots and a whole lot of patience. Farming flowers is a journey, and we’re just getting started.

We’ll be planting even more roots this fall and in the years to come, continuing to grow something truly special.

In about three years, these fields will be full of beautiful blooms and we can’t wait to share that moment with you.
