Hello All,

We're sorry for the confusion today. Small teams make big mistakes and today was one of them. Due to low presales and lack of early interest, we were unable to secure the venue for our originally planned days. While the tickets date were updated and preorders were informed, we failed to inform the community, which is very frustrating for us all. We will admit our social media presences was nonexistent, ironic cause were trying to build a community. All of us at Iro have the goal to create a fun anime experience in a town we love.
We made a huge mistake today, and understand that this isn't putting us in the best position going forward, but we truly wish to try again. We want to bring a little anime magic to the Carlsbad community, and we can't do it alone. We would love to make Iro Con happen, and going forward to next year, we're going to try again. We understand if your hesitant because of this disappointment, we would be too. But if we've learned anything from anime, its that if you don't succeed at first, you get back up and try again!

Know someone who loves to draw, design clothes, or have fun? We're having an art contest at Iro Con! Official rules can be found one our website, iroirocon.com under the "contests" tab!

The basic idea is to draw a new outfit for our mascots, Opuntia and Rio! The prizes are mostly a secret, but the winning designs will be used for next year's mascot as well as a featured spot for the artist who wins!

This isn't a best art contest, it's best design! We recognize that all artists are on a personal journey, and that skills take time to hone! This is why its best design; it opens the doors to contestant of all skill levels!

We're super excited to see your submissions-and you at Iro Con 2026!!

As a reminder, the purpose of Iro Con is to give art supplies to kids-your attendance isn't going to just be for a fun event, it's also for a good cause!

Vendor and artist tables are also available, keep in mind the difference between vendors and artists when buying tickets; Vendors cover resale goods, artists handle handmade goods. Vendors will also be receiving more space for their booths. Iro Con is a charity anime con that's mission is to provide local kids with art supplies! With multiple contests in ALL the arts we hope to honor the effort and joy created by art. Anime is a prime example of art as it takes entire teams and all kinds of arts to create! Comics, video games, dance, and acting are all essential parts of our lives and we want to make sure everyone is able to participate and enjoy those arts!
