🌻 The first sunflowers of the season are finally here, and they feel like little bursts of joy in the garden! Bundles available SOON!

As we look toward fall, we’re also preparing for a huge new addition that will change how this space gives back. 🐣🥚🐥✨

For now, we’re just soaking up the beauty of these sunflowers and feeling grateful that this little garden keeps finding new ways to grow and provide. 💛

Prepping for fall doesn’t just mean flowers!

This season we’re moving into your veggie gardens too—and in true Bulverde’s Backyard fashion, we’re bringing you anything but the ordinary. Instead of the same old starts you’ll find at big box nurseries, we’ve hand-picked specialty varieties that thrive right here in Bulverde. First up: Jericho Romaine Lettuce.

Jericho Romaine actually loves our Texas fall! It’s crisp, sweet, and bred to handle the heat, staying fresh and tender long after other lettuces give up.

The best part? You don’t have to harvest it all at once. Just pick the outer leaves as you need them and let the center keep growing. This “cut-and-come-again” style gives you multiple harvests from a single plant—fresh salads that last all season long. 🌿🥗

These White Lite sunflowers are the perfect addition to EVERYTHING and I cant wait to pair them with our fall lineup.

With these beauties, one seed = one bloom. They take up space on the garden, but boy are they worth it. We have space for 750, but plant them in sucession, giving us plenty of fresh sunflowers each and every week until our first frost.

The size of bloom can be manipulated based on how close/far apart they are planted. Smaller blooms are easier to work with in arrangements, but those giant flower heads stop me in my tracks.

Do you love seeing sunflowers mixed into arrangements, or do you prefer big, cheerful bundles all on their own?

These zinnias have given their all this season—and the butterflies are still loving every bloom. The garden was swarmed this morning!

But flowers are looking a little tired now, so it’s time to clear the bed and get ready for what’s next.

The heat has spoken—our summer flower season is officially closed!

The garden is taking a little breather while we prep for all things fall. Cooler days, cozy colors, and new blooms are just around the corner. 🍁

In the meantime, here’s the bright side of a 6:30am Sunday wake-up: a bouquet and arrangement worth rolling out of bed for. 💐☀️

Stay tuned—we’ll see you soon!

Not every bloom makes it to a bouquet. 🌸

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look: beautiful harvest-ready blooms vs. the pile of blooms I deadhead because they just don’t meet quality standards. Every bouquet we sell is hand-selected—and that means letting go of flowers that just aren’t quite right.

Even the “leftovers” have something lovely to offer. These blooms were nearly a week old, sitting in a harvest bucket—still full of color and charm.

I had to make something for myself, and now they’re the perfect little pop of joy in my entryway.

Grateful to grow beauty that brings joy—not just to my home, but to our little corner of the community too. ✨🤩✨
