This is one of the hardest posts we’ve had to write.
After a lot of thought and conversations, we’ve made the decision to cancel Coastal Haunts Paracon.
Jaime and I have put everything we had into trying to make this event happen. Countless hours, planning, meetings, reaching out to businesses, trying to secure sponsors, pushing to get vendors involved… we truly believed in what this could have been for our community.
But the reality is, we’ve run into more roadblocks than support. We’ve faced a lot of pushback locally, and along the way we’ve even lost relationships with some friends and family over this. That part hurts more than anything.
We did everything we could to keep vendor costs low and ticket prices affordable because we wanted this to be something everyone could be a part of.
Unfortunately, we just weren’t able to get the backing we needed to make it sustainable.
On top of that, I was laid off from work two weeks ago. At this point, we have to shift our focus to our family and figure out our next steps.
We wanted to make this announcement early so everyone has time to plan accordingly. All vendors and ticket holders will be refunded, and we’ll be handling that as quickly as possible.
To those of you who supported us, believed in this, shared it, or planned to be there — thank you. It truly means more than you know.
This isn’t the outcome we wanted… but sometimes things don’t work out the way you fight for them to.
