πππππ PLEASE BUY LOCAL!!!πππππ
As a florist, here are some points Iβd like everyone on the page to understand. Teleflora is an order gatherer. They do not make the arrangements that you order, theyβre sent out to florists that are partnered with them. The shop I currently work for, is one of those partners. MAJORITY of the time, the florists are NOT paid enough to fill the order to the exact recipe that Teleflora provides. While you may pay over $100 for an order (including tax and delivery), the floral shop filling your order gets roughly $50-60 for an order thatβs supposed to equate to $100; which is why more often than not, youβre going to be disappointed.
Also, almost all of the arrangements in the photos Teleflora uses have flowers that are all pushed to the front to make it look as full as possible or actually have flowers photoshopped in. So, when youβre ordering an arrangement for $49.99 including delivery, please keep in mind that a florist is likely to make it one-sided or 3-sided.
My last point to make, the industry has undergone 3 major price increases on the grower, to wholesaler, to retail end and Teleflora has not made a change to their prices to reflect this and florists are doing their best to fill to value.
While I understand that itβs extremely disappointing to not receive exactly what youβve paid for, itβs extremely disappointing as a florist to be given an order from Teleflora thatβs below the set minimum weβve set with them ($50) and itβs calling for 5 Iris, 5 roses, 3 daisies, 2 spray roses, greens, the container/vase, and filler.
I want you to keep in mind the next time youβd like to place a floral order, ignore Teleflora, FTD, 1-800 flowers, Avaβs flowers, Ruth roses, etc. These are all order gatherers, all they do is take your order (poorly usually), skim money off the top, and charge florist a fee if they reject the order. Often, order gathers are going to be at the top of google searches for local florists. Thank you for reading my TED talk.
