I've been into superhero costumes, props and cosplay since I was a kid. Well, if you can call putting on shiny gloves and sunglasses and calling me 'MJ' cosplay, then yes I was into it. I put together my first real costume in 2006, my Superman Returns costume. I started printing enhancements for costumes, then helmets, then printing full armored costumes and parts! Shortly thereafter, I also found

that 3D-printing can help solve problems (like a broken knob for my car) and bring my crazy ideas to life (like coffee pod holders)! And now, our family has turned SuperheroDIY into a combination of a) my love for superhero stuff and b)finding a DIY solution to everything we can. We're always finding a need for the perfect fix for this or that, whether it's around the house or a new idea from our customers and friends! The solutions for collectibles, home, tools, toys, gadgets, gifts, and other great items you'll find here are all 3D-printed right here in Broomfield, Colorado. Here’s how display my McFarlane Green Lantern figures in my Hero Pods. I make them green to look more like a power battery, and light them up in green light because … well … duh.

I’m hoping to get more of them in the future and go crazy with this or something similar built around a single, larger power battery.

Sometimes you gotta just sit down and do the work!

That’s what I did when I realized that I needed to upgrade the wreath on some of my badges because I wanted to make sure that the oak leaves looked right! I started this style on the master gunner badge, and then I did the same thing on my combat medical badge and on the combat infantryman badge. I’m also going to do it on the combat action badge very soon.

I just like the way the layered look makes it actually look like layered oak leaves! Plus, it’s a little bit more dimensional, which is what I’m going for with these wall displays.

Just got done making this wall-mountable Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer fouled anchor — and I couldn’t help but make a quick vid to show it off. It took me a long time to get that chain wrapped around the anchor right, but I love the way it looks.

Just got these two Warrant Officer ranks off the printer. This was W-3 and W-4 — and it’s a good thing. I took these pictures because I realize that I was supposed to make W-2 and W-3 instead! That’s OK, that means I gotta keep this chief warrant officer rank for myself. And of course, that means I can make a bunch of jokes about whether it’s warranted or not. 😂

Yep, I’m pretty sure I’m a Sunday night hockey star! Not really sure what to do when my steel just decides to stop working in the middle of a game – I never really felt like bringing a stone to the bench would make a difference. But I seriously kept falling in the third period for absolutely no reason because I’d go to Hockey stop a certain way and had absolutely no edge.

Not that I would have scored if I had a better edge anyway! my thing is that I can take it all the way up, but I rarely can get past the goalie and I don’t know why ….

Caduceus! The Army Medical Corps branch insignia is here and it looks great! I had a heck of a time with those snakes but was able to get them to look perfect. This can scale from 6 inches wide to 15 inches wide for a really cool wall display.

So you medics, nurses, doctors, all you - made this for you!

There are more tabs than I even knew about while I was in! I don’t think I’d even heard of the Arctic, Mountain, or Jungle tab. But I guess I was nowhere near any duty stations where those ones were big.

Ranger and Airborne for sure, though. And then the classic Sh*tbag tab, which takes a special soldier to earn! 💩
