Standing Together: Supporting Our Community Through the Shutdown
With the ongoing government shutdown and the pause of vital SNAP benefits, many in our community are facing profound food insecurity and hardship. At Wildflower Wellness, we believe that every person deserves to be fed and clothed—especially when faced with circumstances beyond their control.
We know that many of our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet and are worried about the basics. That's why Wildflower Uplift Initiative Corporation, our mutual aid organization, is partnering with Art Through Emotion, Appalachian Impact, and Pretty Peonies Parlor for a November food/necessities drive to provide immediate relief.
How You Can Help Us Fill the Gaps:
We are collecting the following necessities:
Pantry Staples: Canned soup, vegetables, fruit, non-perishable food items, snacks. We are also equipped to store frozen foods. Simple meal kits are also accepted. (PM if you would like more info on how to put one together!)
Essential Toiletries: Toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, sanitary products, deodorant, cleaning supplies.
Infant Needs: Diapers (all sizes), wipes, and unopened baby formula.
Clothing: clean clothing in good condition, winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves.
Contact us to arrange pickup/drop-off of items, or bring them to Pretty Peonies by November 21. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.
