If there is one piece of advice that I can pass along - it would be Follow up.
It is so important to follow up with your customers and your vendors. Just a quick check in a week before the event to make sure there’s no changes, mistakes, or misunderstandings.
I always do a quick check in with my clients and include all the pertinent information ( date, time, location, list the vendors and their times of start and finish)
And with any vendors
Confirming date, time, location start and end times
I just recently came across a post where a bride never received her cake. She named the vendor and my heart just dropped because this vendor is one of the best and it truly was an unfortunate event, a glitch in the system. The vendor was extremely professional in how she handled it. It takes 2 to do a transaction and if the brides coordinator would have checked in with the baker this could have potentially been resolved, or a plan could have been made in advance.
