Did you know this is my fourth year farming? 🥳 👩‍🌾 💐 Lately I’ve been reminded what it was like my first year. It wasn't pretty by any means. it was hard and discouraging sometimes, overwhelming and frustrating at other times. Even making the bouquets you see in this picture reminds me of the first time I made bouquets to sell at a berry stand. It felt like a disaster! Harvesting took me much longer than I thought it would so I was harvesting flowers in the dark by the end of it. I realized I didnt have enough flowers in my field to make all the bouquets I wanted!

Embarrassment and frustration filled up inside of me that I was struggling with such a simple task that I started to assemble the bouquets in the dark. which of course made it harder! The next day as I harvested and made bouquets it went 100% smoother than it did the day before.

To say other things havent gone smoothly since I’ve started this adventure is an understatement but Im so glad I’ve kept going. Lately I am continuously reminded at how far I have come. My business isn’t perfect by any means. The feelings of frustration and being overwhelmed still pop up inside of me. But I can now look back and see how much I’ve grown in four short years.

I’m honestly not quite sure how I want to end this very long post 🤪💁‍♀️ other than I hope this brings you a little bit of encouragement to your day! As you do hard things and adventure into the unknown keep on going! You never know how far you’ll come!

Did you know flower farming started in the Netherlands in about the 16 and 17th century. With the development of the greenhouse spring flowers were brought into bloom early in the winter. •

Ahhh!! It happened!! A huge huge thanks to my friends .welch and I was able to plant all my dahlia tubers in the field today 🙌🙌🙌 one step closer to enjoying beautiful dahlias this summer!!! WHOS READY!!??

Did you know yarrow symbolizes everlasting love? I'm not going to lie, I wasn't expecting this one. 😂💁‍♀️ Although I can see why they would symbolize everlasting love. They last forever as a fresh cut flower and can be dried as well, lasting indefinitely.

Just wanted to introduce myself on here again for the people that have joined recently!

Hello my name is Jaci Vanderwerff and I am farmer, marketing expert, delivering person, handy woman, w**d puller, flower harvester and anything else you can think of when running a business here 🤗 this is my 4th season growing on 1/4 an acre and I’m so excited for what’s in store this coming summer! I’ve grown up here in the valley and love being a part of the small business community here! I love cats and am lactose intolerant for all those who wanted to know that about me 😂 I love sharing the beauty that comes out of my field!
