This tray cooked- but not in the good way. The heat mat got a bit too warm for the shallow cells and toasted the soil and some of the seeds. Never a great thing, but it sure is satisfying to try and rehydrate.

Yeah I got a lot of ant bites… poor things must have been so scared. They definitely picked a poor place to build, but who could blame them with all that lovely airy soil just sitting there…

After taking your cuttings, be sure they make nice contact with the soil. Adding a humidity dome can also increase their chances of rooting as it helps with moisture retention.

Living in Utah, you can expect the weather to be unpredictable. It’s May 19th and our temps are getting down to around 38°F. 🫣 gotta love the unexpected struggles of gardening.
