𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤
The safety and well-being of our community, especially our children, remains our highest priority. With that in mind, we’d like to address two incidents that occurred on August 6th and 7th at Codrington Park.
On August 6th, we were made aware of a concerning interaction where an individual engaged in conversation with staff about one of the children present. Out of an abundance of caution, staff immediately reported the incident.
The following day, August 7th, the same individual returned to the area, and our officers promptly responded. He was quickly located and identified. After speaking with him and conducting a thorough assessment, we determined that there is no threat to the public.
While his behavior understandably caused concern, it was not found to be malicious in nature, and there is no ongoing risk to the community. We commend Bound Brook Recreation staff for their attentiveness and swift action, which allowed us to address the situation thoroughly and responsibly.
Incidents like these highlight the importance of community vigilance, and we continue to be fully committed to ensuring our parks and public spaces remain safe and welcoming for all.
As always, we encourage residents to report anything that seems unusual. We will continue to treat every concern with the seriousness it deserves.
