A vintage Volkswagen microbus, affectionately nicknamed "Azul" by its owner, became a symbol of hope after surviving the Palisades Fire in Malibu, California, in January 2025. The bus, a 1977 Type 2, was remarkably unscathed amidst the surrounding devastation. Volkswagen of America is now restoring the bus to its original glory.

Roxie, Lil’ Blu and I made a giant leap of faith, packed up all the things and moved west. We’re settled in Napa, California now and Vintage VW Backdrops is opening for business in the beautiful Napa Valley.
