Assistant Wedding Photographer/Videographer
Summary
The Assistant Wedding Photographer/Videographer is an exciting role for someone looking to get started in the wedding photography or videography business. You will work alongside the lead photographer/videographer and assist with capturing weddings for clients. This is a creative and collaborative position that is skilled in working in different environments and working with a diverse number of people. Some training will be provided, but it is important to have someone who is passionate about creating and capturing memories for our clients, as well as working with cameras, editing software, and other professional photography equipment.
Responsibilities
Assist the lead photographer/videographer to capture wedding days, including setup and break down.
Able to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
Manage inventory of equipment and media.
Some digital editing of media.
Willing to work on weekends and some weekdays for 8-10 hours.
Willing to travel to destination weddings for 1-3 days a month.
Qualifications
Experience working with DSLR or mirrorless cameras, preferably Canon cameras.
Experience working with Premiere Pro and After Effects editing programs.
Some experience with audio equipment such as recorders, wireless microphones, etc.
Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
Flexibility to work weekends and some weekdays.
Must be located in or around Birmingham, AL area.
Compensation
$15 per hour for training and can increase to $25-50 per hour after training is completed.
Up to 30 hours per month.
