Time in the forest measurably lowers cortisol, reduces blood pressure, and calms the nervous system. This isn’t folklore; it’s a body of peer-reviewed research going back decades.
Association of Nature and Forest Therapy-certified guides don't diagnose or treat. They use a standardized framework of sensory prompts to help you slow down enough to let the forest do the rest.
This fall, we're opening New England’s first ANFT-certified forest therapy trail during the The Life Forest Midnight Market at The Bower in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.
We’re offering two ways for guests at this community event to receive an introduction to forest therapy with certified guides Christine Tappan (Birchwalking), Nadine Mazzola, and Siobhán Connelly (woodswalkingforesttherapy.com):
🌲 Forest Therapy Walk ($40, 60–90 min) — a guided walk on a section of the new trail, under the full moon
🌙 Forest Therapy Circle ($15, ~30 min) — a shorter guided activity at the forest's edge
Financial aid available for anyone who wants to join, regardless of ability to pay.
The Life Forest Midnight Market itself is free to attend, but all guests must RSVP at thebowernh.com to reserve their space on the free shuttle to The Bower.
