I've had a lot on my plate since I got back from Florida so I haven't had time to draw a new flyer. There will be a new one for the 14th. Here is a hellish one from 2005 in keeping with the season.

I had a lot of fun being back last week and I look forward to tonight. For a good time come to the open mic.

Be aware that next week on September 14th, the open mic starts at 8:00 pm because of an earlier event at the Missouri. Hopefully I will find some time to make an anniversary poster for the 21st.

Wednesday Night Open Mic celebrates the good old days of the post office. Send somebody a snail mail this week and keep your good wishes from prying eyes. Come out and sing on Wednesday.

Correction: This was incorrect as to the delivery of the first overland mail. This correction skips a lot of details. At first mail was carried over land to Sacramento starting in 1851, but it was intermittent and dangerous. Eventually the mail took a second, southern route to Southern California after which mail to San Francisco was carried by steamship. The third way was the Butterfield Overland Route that started in 1857. It began semi-weekly service on September 15, 1858. I apologize for being in a hurry and grabbing something incorrect from a “this day in history” type website without doing further research.

You know there is a reason why those in power want to make voting difficult. If you haven’t registered, please do so. And then follow up by voting. Remember when your parents would say that if you didn’t eat they would send your dinner to somebody less fortunate? That can’t happen with your vote. Your basic right is just thrown away. Don’t waste it. And besides, the Missouri Lounge Open Mic takes place every Wednesday from 7 to 10 pm.
