My tours are designed to offer photographers and outdoor enthusast an opportunity to explore the coastal southeast with a professional photographer as guide. I enjoy sharing my favorite destinations and wildlife action with other photographers and outdoor enthusiasts. Our trips are planned with wildlife seasonal action and key dynamics that will support optimal shooting - up close and personal ph
oto experience in the field. I have been emersed in nature and wildlife throughout my life as a professional photographer for over 40 years as well as off the job. I have lived and worked in the Carolina lowcountry (coastal region) since 1981 and have chosen this region as a base of operation because of the natural beauty and action it serves up daily. Addionally, this base allows easy access for me to provide tours outside the area to offer services to individuals, groups and clubs as guest speaker, presenter and photo tour leader beyond this region up & down the coastline and beyond.

This album contains select guest submitted images from the Charleston Harbor ( Castle Pinckney) and @ Bird Key @ Folly/Kiawah. Crab Bank, once one of the biggest seabird rookeries in the state has been washed out by storms and high water levels. There are efforts underway to restore it in the coming year.

Friends and followers, after much deliberation and soul searching I have decided to discontinue this page as of November 15th. We would like to thank Eric Horan for a spectacular tour. It is hard to say which area was our favorite - but seeing so many dolphins swimming within 3 feet of our boat ranks pretty close to the top. Eric's knowledge from identifying wildlife/birds to the history of monkey island was second to none. We highly recommend Eric and are looking forward to our next tour.

New “ lock screen” photo- Green Heron fishing @ Merritt Island, Florida
Deveaux Banks - Red Knots
The waterways are open again. Perfect timing to catch the peak of the spring shorebird migrations, the start of the wading bird and Osprey nesting and the Bald Eagles before they take their new fledglings away for the summer. We can maintain safe social distancing and have 3 in the boat for an outdoor experience second to none. Public tours are suspended until this COVID 19 threat has gone👍

Eric, Thanks for guiding us through the marsh and along the rookery at the end of June. You are a knowledgeable, inspirational photographer-naturalist. The rookery was particularly amazing. I’ve never seen so many pelicans, terns, and gulls at different stages of development, all in one place. And, I greatly appreciated your suggestions for the camera settings while photographing in different light and your insights about the behaviors and life history of the wildlife we were photographing. Finally, we love your book of photographs, "Beholding Nature!" Beautiful and inspirational!
