💜 Thank You, Captain Matt Malinowski 💜

We’re incredibly grateful to Captain Matthew Malinowski of the Syracuse Police Department for standing with survivors and joining the Paint the Town Purple movement.

Matt has spent more than a decade in law enforcement and currently serves as a Captain with SPD, with experience spanning public safety, crisis management and community engagement.

✨️ But what makes his participation especially meaningful is that Matt also serves as President of the Board of Directors for Vera House.

That combination matters 💜

Survivors of domestic and sexual violence often encounter law enforcement during some of the most frightening and vulnerable moments of their lives.

Having a leader in public safety visibly stand behind Vera House, Inc. and the people it serves reinforces something incredibly important: supporting survivors requires collaboration across our entire community 🙌

So when Matt holds an “I Stand With Survivors” certificate, it represents more than a photo...

It represents leadership, advocacy and two important parts of our community coming together around the same message:

Survivors deserve to be believed, supported and surrounded by people willing to stand beside them. 💜
