⚠️HAZARDOUS WIND GUSTS ARRIVE SATURDAY MORNING
A powerful cold front arrives in Central Texas around midnight tonight with winds getting VERY gusty shortly thereafter. Sustained winds between 20-30 MPH will come with *widespread* wind gusts between 40-50 MPH. *Isolated* gusts, primarily in the Hill Country, will top 50-55 MPH from late Saturday morning through early Saturday evening.
🔹TODAY (Friday) is your day to make sure loose outdoor belongings (patio furniture/cushions, leftover holiday decorations) are put away or tied down.
🔹If you drive a high-profile vehicle, Saturday is going to be rough for driving around. Use extra caution on the roads.
🔹Please, please please please, NO OUTDOOR BURNING of any kind on Saturday. With a rapidly intensifying drought and dry/dormant fuels after several hard freezes, any fire that starts will spread rapidly. Love your neighbor, help prevent fires from starting.
🔹It's not out of the question that these winds give power lines a run for their money. Brief power outages will be possible on Saturday.
I'll be live on CBS Austin from 4:30 to 7 AM tracking everything for you. See y'all in a bit!
