This is 30.
What did my 20s teach me?
Everybody benefits from my heart being open.
It can feel that in our society, I have to carry the weight, push forward, and take everything on the cheek.
Truth is, I’ve carried a lot in my 20s - From starting a business out of my mom garage, and seeing that it grow into a 20 ton warehouse with employees, clients , and over 2m in yearly revenue..
From stepping into providership, purchasing a house, establishing salaries, renting a proper warehouse, the turning gears that must remain in motion continue to amount -
To losing some of my biggest clients at my own faults, to receiving bad tax advice, being in debt to the government, to having my cash flow crushed, to watching my business dry up during COVID, to having my best friend steal money from me, to losing too many friends.
Life has its ups and downs.
And it would be an understatement to say I work in a somewhat chaotic career field.
When things goes wrong , it can feel like everything is crashing down - and in many cases I assume all the risk , all the responsibility, and all the blame.
What has this taught me?
My circumstances can shift drastically, but my heart must remain open.
The more I can feel , see, understand, and the more I react with love, the better the outcome.
And so in my 30s I vow to see more, understand more, feel more, and react with love.
I didn’t take a conventional route to where I am today - I struggled, I almost went broke a few times, and by no means am I where I intend to be yet.
But the lessons I’ve learned and the friends I’ve made along the way in my 20s have set me up for a good life, and I would trade any of it for the world.
Today I’m in Amsterdam - me and the Wife are still on our honeymoon and plan to party it up into the new year at Awakenings festival .
I’m so incredible grateful for all the good people and things in my life , and I know it can only get better.
With love - your friendly neighborhood reindeer
