As revealed through a series of interviews of long-time residents. The play features a sprinkling of names and places once familiar in the area now designated as Austin's African American Cultural Heritage District.

Roger Reeves is a Cave Canem fellow and is pursuing his MFA at the James A. Michener Center for Creative Writing at the University of Texas at Austin. Don't miss your chance to see his new play, In Preparation of Eden, on April 19th at the Long Center.
We would like to sincerely acknowledge the recent passage of our friend, supporter, and Arts Champion, Andrea Pair Bryant. She was the first recipient of ProArt’s annual Boyd Vance Awards for the Advancement of the Arts, and served several years as a City of Austin Arts Commissioner. We are grateful to have experienced her energy and light and will cherish her memory.

Set in Austin, Texas at the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement, In Preparation of Eden is a story of a family struggling against modernity, the criminal justice system, and the spiritual and psychic upheaval that is the 1960s. Come check out this play on April 19th and 20th at the Long Center!
