Based on a true story, "In Preparation of Eden" by Roger Reeves is a result of the playwright's research into the history, people, and lore of Central East Austin. As revealed through a series of interviews of long-time residents. The play features a sprinkling of names and places once familiar in the area now designated as Austin's African American Cultural Heritage District.

We would like to sincerely acknowledge the recent passage of our friend, supporter, and Arts Champion, Andrea Pair Bryant. She was the first recipient of ProArt’s annual Boyd Vance Awards for the Advancement of the Arts, and served several years as a City of Austin Arts Commissioner. We are grateful to have experienced her energy and light and will cherish her memory.
