Class is in session, but every teacher chose the subject while ten tabs deep in a research spiral.

I’m developing Hyperfix Five: a live storytelling and public-speaking event where each person gets five minutes to teach the audience about their latest obsession.

You can make a slideshow. You can bring props. You can deliver a tiny lecture with the confidence of someone who has spent the last four weeks learning everything ever recorded about Victorian mourning jewelry.

No professional speaking experience required. No need to be the world’s leading expert. You just need a subject you’re genuinely excited to share.

Your obsession deserves an audience.

Hyperfix Five is a live event idea built around five-minute presentations about the subjects currently consuming our brains.

The topic can be educational, ridiculous, deeply niche or impossible to explain without a slideshow. Ancient shipwrecks. Theme-park design. Local birds. A celebrity conspiracy theory. The evolution of a specific font. The interpersonal politics of a reality television franchise. If you can’t stop researching it, we want to hear about it.

Each speaker gets five minutes onstage. Slides are welcome but not required. Expertise is optional; enthusiasm is mandatory!!!

From the deranged brains at Cute Story Events, Hyperfix Five is a live event where people take the stage for five minutes to tell us about their latest obsession. Bring a slideshow if you want. Bring visual aids. Bring an unnecessarily detailed timeline. Or just grab the microphone and teach us everything your friends are tired of hearing about.

Think rapid-fire presentations, unexpected rabbit holes and people getting to be loudly excited about the things they love!!!!
