Might Be Magic is an Austin-based collective creating spaces for dance, connection, and release. The vibe? Keep the dance floor sacred.

Rooted in house + techno, powered by community, and guided by a touch of magic. Might Be Magic, launched by Claudia Hernandez and co-curator DJ / producer Brett Johnson, emerged on the Austin dance scene in March of 2021 and has quickly become one of the city’s favorite parties. Resident DJ Brett Johnson, known for his groovy, bumping house infused with all the right techno elements, contributes over 25 years of experience to the party giving it it’s authentic, underground atmosphere. Focused on bringing exciting talent to Texas to play alongside Austin’s best-kept local talent, Might be Magic has hosted over 70 parties with headliners such as Mystic Bill, Cinthie, Daniel Bell (DBX), Lauren Flax, Mike Servito, Bradley Zero, Ash Lauryn, Gene on Earth, DJ Diz, Lady D, Bill Converse, Marcos Cabral and the list goes on and on. A healthy dose of house, techno, acid and the occasional disco oddity.

Now based in Mexico City, El Zárate is back in Austin, joining Jacques-André, the French-born local behind the all-vinyl party Rendez-vous (Rendez-vous )

Two serious record collectors sharing music they love, with the whole night to stretch out. Expect deep grooves, rolling basslines, and some weird little gems along the way.

We’ve got an Austin legend and some South Texas love coming to XuXa this Saturday ❤️

Herb (Herb Agapetus ) has been part of Austin’s underground for decades. Between his days buying dance records for Waterloo and opening Alien Records, he’s helped so many people discover music and find their way into this community. Really happy to have him joining us.

Straight out of the 956 and now holding it down in Austin, Victor S. (Victor Eduardo ) brings his love of deep house. You probably know him from Tru2It ( Tru2It Records ) or have spent some time next to him on the dance floor. Always finding that groove that keeps rolling.

And we’re welcoming TTESSOK ( ttessok ) for her MBM debut! South Texas roots, time in Mexico City, and a dancer herself, her influences go from hip hop and reggaeton to pop and jazz. She’s shown our community so much love, and we’re excited to have her behind the decks. Come give her a warm welcome.
