It’s been a bit since I last posted my cakes. Neck surgery to start the year, new job after 23 years, oldest kid graduating high school, youngest starting high school. It’s been a whirlwind getting used to my new norm, but I’m enjoying spending more time with my kids.

I haven’t commissioned any cakes this year and I’m grateful I had time to recover with so many changes, but I’ve done a few cakes (especially cheesecakes) to celebrate family celebrations. Glad to slowly get back into the swing of things.

Quick cupcake “cake” for the win. Football Boosters had me running crazy this week so I needed to throw an audible to help at a family birthday party tonight on the fly.

I pulled together this cake idea this morning before my son’s football game to help celebrate Bob’s 70th. I think it turned out great. Whew!

Had the opportunity to create something completely different for a beautiful wedding today. The bride and groom love cheesecake and wanted a tiered cake for the formal look. With some ingenuity and lots of recipe testing, it was a winner. Loved pushing myself to try new ideas and recipes outside of my wheelhouse. Cake No. 2

Our Aviation mechanic needed a cake for his 17th birthday party. Noah is a fanatic of old War planes and I decided to shake off the rust and create this cake using my homemade fondant.

I am by no means an engineer but I wanted to make a cake lift for the airplane cake to “take off” as well. I ran out of time and wasn’t able to completely finish the lift but it was a fun thought. 😂

Look how cute these are! Lisa Hernandez did a fabulous job on our grad cookies for Ethan and Bella’s grad party tomorrow night.

She made half for Murphy Creek MS and the other half for Fox Ridge MS in their school colors.

Lisa uses the profits to benefit her pediatric cancer foundation. Win win! Let me know if you need her info.

Two cakes for a special 14 year old. Ethan requested a pineapple upside down cake and decides to jazz it up as a bundt. Second request was a vanilla cream cheese cake. Added a few airsoft images to top off for his friend party and voila, happy teenagers.
