I probably took this picture at least a dozen times before I decided “this is as good as it’s gonna get.” It’s not what I envisioned and it’s not perfect. But this stack of papers represents so much more than what it is. LIFE isn’t perfect. It’s messy. And it’s definitely not what I envisioned. But it’s mine and I’ve worked damn hard to make it all that it is. And the truth is, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s taken me 20 years to get to this point. Through so many ups and downs in life. Friends that came and went. A marriage that was cut short before it even began. Losing loved ones and realizing YOU are the legacy they leave behind. Mistakes along the way and too many opportunities I should’ve taken but didn’t. All to say- each of these things (and so many more) built the woman I am today. And I’m so proud of her. If that little 19 year old college girl could see where we are now… she’d be scared and excited all at the same time.
