Well, here is the event page for HERD FLOCK VIII: THE GRATEFUL 8. *Long post you probably wont read:* Heres a story, I was not a part of the original staff. The Fest started in 2016. I went to HF1 & HF2 (2016 & 2017) to play. At HF3 I was asked by someone to make a flyer/schedule (2018). The team and the original booker went separate ways after that show. 2019 (HF4), I stepped in to Book. I've run a lot of local shows and this one is, by far, the most fun, meaningful show in general for me. Since the show's inception, the event has donated $8,191 to local Richmond elementary and middle school programs and has managed to increase contributions every year without raising the ticket price. More and more people seem to come to the show each year. Setting up a show and seeing so many amazing bands kill it for 2 days straight. The community that is created on the campgrounds, is a feeling like no other, it feels like I'm at a summer camp, the bonds, the concerts, the memories. That's why you go. We stopped for 3 years because of COVID and other misfortunes, but brought it back in 2023 for HF5. It RAINED, Almost the entire weekend and will forever be dubbed "Mud Flock." We had to bring everyone up and down on an old ford tractor and trailer when the road washed out lol. Absolutely ridiculous. However, the show was unlike no other. Everyone stood in the rain, mosh pits in the rain, bonfires...in the rain. I honestly don't know how we made it through that, but we did and will never forget it. HF6 (2024) was a rocking show with the largest turn out at that time yet . HF7 (2025) had an even bigger turnout. This one went as close to perfect as it could. I could almost relax. It went so well. Just good vibes and a great line up. I can honestly say one of the greatest music experiences I have had in my life and may ever have. This year we have made it to 8! An unbelievable triumph and perseverance, well, in my opinion. This year begins the final count down (or Flock down, if you will). It is an unbelievable amount of work to do this annually. So this is the official announcement that there will be only 3 more. HF 8, 9, and 10 will be the Finale. Please tell your friends and family to come out to this event. Literally, the more, the merrier. I have had some of the best times in my local music "career" here haha. Make your plans and hope to see you this summer!
