If you're getting married soon, can I tell you a secret?

Things will not go according to plan. It will rain. Someone will be running late. The cake will melt in the heat. Your shoes will give you a blister.

Something will go wrong. And that's okay. Looking back, you'll laugh about it.

That is why having experienced people around you to help you stay calm, roll with the punches, and keep the main thing the main thing is so important!

Catching up over here! June was busy with weddings, travel, and church fun, so I'm behind on posting some things!

Catie and Dylan's wedding day at Oakhurst was so beautiful, and their friends were a ton of fun! They were just precious together and I love that you can always feel Catie's joy bursting out of her with every smile and laugh!

The best wedding photos aren't always about the couple. They're about the people who matter to them. Ashley and Christian's littlest loves walking into Chapel on the Water on their family's big day. This is what I'm actually documenting.

If you're planning your wedding, think about the moments that will mean the most to you in ten years. It's usually not the perfectly posed shots. It's the kids, the parents, the best friends. The ones who have walked beside you through the good, the bad, and the in between.

Maggie and Lucas could not stop cracking each other up during their engagement session. I love a couple who has this much fun together. It tells me everything about what their marriage is going to feel like.

Your "we did it!" moment.

The recessional is over in about ten seconds. Gracie and Zach had just been pronounced married at Holy Trinity in Auburn, and this was her turning to face everyone for the first time as a wife.

This is the kind of frame I'm watching for all day. Not posed, not asked for. Just the real thing as it happens.

Mary Catherine got married in white and gold Nikes. A practical shoe? I'm always here for it.

A wedding day is long and you're on your feet for most of it. The right shoes mean you get to be in the middle of everything instead of waiting to kick off the heels. If sneakers are more your vibe, embrace it! I love it when my brides feel the freedom to be who they are!

Some of the best moments happen before anyone else is watching.

Before the day really got going, Olivia and Windell stepped away to read their private vows, just the two of them. Windell didn't make it through dry-eyed. Pretty sure I didn't either.

It's hard to believe this dress needed last minute stitches the morning of, sewn by a friend right before Jamie put it on.

By the time she stood for portraits, you'd never have known. Just a beautiful bride in a dress that fit her perfectly.
