The creative community lost an undeniable force this morning. But more importantly, it lost a son, a brother, a partner, a friend. You cannot have spent any time in Atlanta and not felt the gift of Dres Tha Beatnik. Dres, even as he battled illness, had an infectious energy and joy for the arts and the community. From moving a crowd to a warm word as he put his hand on your shoulder to pull you in close so you really heard what he was sharing, there was no one like Dres Tha Beatnik. His impact will far outlive all of us. A life well lived and a battle well fought. You are loved and will be greatly missed. Rest well, Andre Lett.

We’ve taken a minute to think about this moment as we recognize a huge achievement in the life and career of a person who has countless monumental moments. This past weekend, our brother, Richard Dunn, along with his family and friends, celebrated his graduation from Morehouse College. We are so proud of him and his latest achievement. We’ve referred to him as our E.F. Hutton because he’s earned the respect of so many people throughout his career that people just listen when he speaks. He’s a giant in Atlanta and the music community and we are honored to call him a friend - not just in business but in life. Richard - we celebrate you in this momentous achievement and we look forward to seeing many more.

When we say Thursday’s The Jam was incredible - we aren’t exaggerating. The music & energy were spectacular plus a few of our friends came through to show love. Omar Navarro pulled up sans his hencemen (funny how that character still has many of us shook but in reality, Felix Solis is a kind, funny, and genuine person) and our brother TC Carson once again blessed us with his gifts. Both of these incredible talents are wonderful people that we are honored to call our friends. 

And don’t tell anyone, when Felix first comes into a space, our first thought is still, “am I going to get murked today?!” - that’s how you play a portray a character.
