I'm sorry I havent taken time to engage anyone on this, but it is just too hard at the moment. This post is the best I can muster. Please consider sharing it.

Please know that these donations, big and small, have absolutely floored me. They will make a huge difference in the financial burdens that have been thrust upon me and my family. Thank you so much! Even if it was just kind words left in a comment or a share, thank you! You are amazing. With your help, I can focus on getting better and learning to deal with this hand I've been dealt.

An update for you:

They want to keep me in the hospital for a few more weeks and I'm honestly not sure what life is going to look like when I leave: both legs are bad but one leg is very, very bad. We all hope they will heal but I have to be ready if it does not. I have general numbness from the chest down and the surgeons have had to cut several more nerves in the course of my surgeries. The basic bodily functions of my bowels and bladder are now constant struggles. My back and shoulders are regularly overwhelmed with pain. I am not having a good time.

Importantly though, I'm alive, and your generosity and kindness will help me and my family immensely.

Please, share this post and if it is within your means, consider donating what you can. It is likely I am going to have a very hard next few months or years while I figure out how to work and live with this unfamiliar body which I have suddenly found myself in.

Foie Gras app themed with a peanut butter and honey sandwich.

Seared lobe of foie Gras on a buttered piece of honey wheat (cooked in a waffle iron for texture), atop a splash of lemon curds and creamy peanut butter, drizzled with wildflower honey and garnished with roasted hazelnut pieces.

Paired with a 1997 passito di pantelleria (sweet white wine).
