Megan and Don asked for the romance of an Italian garden, but they also wanted their wedding to reflect something they genuinely love… the Kentucky Derby.
The reception was designed with layers of greenery, living trees, ferns, soft white florals, patterned linens, smoky glassware, candlelight, gold accents, and flowing drapery.
The goal was to create a room that felt lush, intimate, and quietly transport everyone somewhere beyond Georgia.
Then Megan shared one small request.
She wanted to incorporate betting.. maybe even have guests place bets when they arrived… into their day.
From that conversation came “The Fetzer Stakes,” a custom wedding-day newspaper and program, official ceremony and reception odds, personalized betting cards, and an interactive experience created entirely around Megan and Don.
Even the audiobook signage joined the story with a perfectly placed, “Hold Your Horses.”
This is what personalized wedding design looks like to me.
It is not choosing a theme and repeating it everywhere.
It is listening carefully, finding the details that mean something to the couple, and weaving them into an experience that feels cohesive, elevated, and completely their own.
Italian garden romance.
Derby-day personality.
And one unforgettable evening spent…
