Thank you for being just as excited about this brand refresh as I am 💛 Yesterday truly warmed my heart. Reading your messages, comments, and emails reminded me why I love what I do. Thank you for celebrating this new chapter with me.
Many of you asked why I decided to rename my company, and what inspired The Velvet Finch.
When I started this business, I was a new mom for the second time, and making a leap from interior design into event planning. I didn’t have a polished business plan or an office back then. What I did have was a deep passion for creating beautiful spaces that brought people together, plenty of determination, and many sleepless nights nursing my newborn daughter. Those quiet hours became my time to dream, plan, and build the business that has carried me through the last 15 incredible years.
As the business has grown, so have I, and so has my family. Along the way I’ve learned, evolved, and gained confidence, both personally and professionally. Today, the brand feels different. More refined. More intentional. More confident in a quiet, understated way. In many ways, it reflects who I’ve become.
A small business and its owner are so often intertwined, and it felt like the right time for the brand to evolve alongside me.
The Velvet Finch felt instantly perfect, when it first came to me. Finches are wonderfully social birds: they flourish in community, connection, and togetherness. To me, that beautifully reflects what meaningful celebrations are all about. And velvet represents a sense of luxury, not only in the aesthetic of an event, but in the smooth experience of working together from beginning to end.
